VeggieTales is a Christian video series that was first meant to impact kids of the younger age, but many older kids & adults enjoy this wonderful multimedia wonder.
Phil Vischer was born in Muscatine, Iowa in 1966, attended St. Paul Bible College in Minnesota, and participated in a puppet ministry where he met Mike Nawrocki.
Mike Nawrocki joined Phil after he founded GRAFx Studios in 1989. Mike was then working at Renaissance Video to pay for his education-he was hoping for a medical career. At Renaissance he gained some important knowledge about animation and producing films
Phil Vischer and Mike Nawrocki started working an an animated Christian video series for kids (young kids). Mike stopped pursuing his medical career and joined Phil at GRAFx Studios. The year is 1992. The same year their work produced a two minute promotional video for a completely animated on computer, kids video series.
Today, Phil and Mike use computer software known as Softimage and Silicon Graphics workstations to make VeggieTales films. By the way, $30,000 dollars was spent to buy a program to make videos that are equivalent to Toy Story, Jurassic Park, and The Mask. Big Idea Productions outsizes all other computer animation studios in Chicago. In the future Big Idea will venture out to make characters with limbs and to produce a full-length movie.
